Resumo:Taking the theoretical apparatus of children’s mental health and SUS humanization policy, the purpose of this study is to reflect on the importance of rapprochement between children and family members in contexts of hospitalization and psychosocial care. Play allows the expression and elaboration of anxieties linked to the suffering experienced by children and their families, providing protagonism to them and assisting in the process of recovery and humanization of service environments. We used as research reference the situations extracted from field diaries of the interdisciplinary work of “PET Saúde da Criança” during 2019. The results of the analysis reveal that these recreational approaches provide interaction and the creation of sociability between adults and children, reinforcing the bonds of trust to face adverse situations. Keywords: childhood; psychological suffering; health promotion.
