Although the official attention that one and the other receive is very different according to the countries, they enjoy growing recognition in Latin America. Pedagogy traditionally limited education to the family and school during the early stages of life, but educational praxis extends throughout life. Social education allows the person to be trained permanently, in various fields: sociocultural animation, leisure and free time, adult education, specialized education, etc. In reviewing the highlights of socio-educational work, it is essential to refer to intervention models, theoretical schemes of practical scope. Here six models are reviewed from a flexible, open, dialogical and integrative perspective: psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, crisis intervention, humanistic, critical and systemic. Este artículo se centra en la pedagogía social, ámbito científico, y en la educación social, actividad profesional. Aunque la atención oficial que una y otra reciben es bien distinta según los países, gozan de creciente reconocimiento en Iberoamérica. La pedagogía tradicionalmente circunscribía la educación a la familia y la escuela durante las primeras etapas de la vida, pero la praxis educativa se extiende a toda la vida. La educación social permite formar a la persona de modo permanente, en ámbitos diversos: la animación sociocultural, el ocio y el tiempo libre, la educación de adultos, la educación especializada, etc. En el repaso de aspectos destacados del trabajo socioeducativo es fundamental la referencia a los modelos de intervención, esquemas teóricos de alcance práctico. Aquí se revisan seis modelos desde una perspectiva flexible, abierta, dialógica e integradora: psicodinámico, cognitivo-conductual, intervención en crisis, humanista, crítico y sistémico. Este artigo enfoca a pedagogia social, o campo científico, e a educação social, a atividade profissional. Embora a atenção oficial que ambos recebam seja muito diferente de acordo com os países, eles gozam de reconhecimento crescente na América Latina. A pedagogia tradicionalmente limitava a educação à família e à escola nos primeiros estágios da vida, mas a práxis educacional se estende por toda a vida. A educação social permite a formação permanente do indivíduo em diversas áreas: animação sociocultural, lazer e tempo livre, educação de adultos, educação especializada, etc. Ao revisar os aspectos marcantes do trabalho socioeducativo, é imprescindível fazer referência a modelos de intervenção, esquemas teóricos de alcance prático. Aqui, são revisados seis modelos ??de uma perspectiva flexível, aberta, dialógica e integrativa: psicodinâmico, cognitivo-comportamental, intervenção em crise, humanístico, crítico e sistêmico.
