The question of the sale of the surplus of the electric energy coproduced in the sugar and alcohol plants from the burning of the bagasse as well as the question of technologies to maximize these surpluses with combined and supercritical cycles will be mentioned. Basically the work will be divided into the following topics: Introduction; Bagasse productivity data (Kg of bagasse per ton of processed cane and other data), Bagasse characterization, Energy conversion technologies such as steam and combined cycle power and lastly Energy life cycle and energy balance of ethanol. Este trabalho visa principalmente a discorrer acerca do potencial de utilização do bagaço de cana-de-açúcar para fins energéticos. A questão da venda do excedente da energia elétrica coproduzida nas usinas de açúcar e álcool a partir da queima do bagaço bem como a questão das tecnologias para maximizar estes excedentes com ciclos combinados e supercríticos serão mencionados. Basicamente o trabalho será dividido nos seguintes tópicos: Introdução; Dados de produtividade do bagaço (Kg de bagaço por tonelada de cana processada e outros dados), Caracterização do bagaço, Tecnologias de conversão energética tais como ciclo de potencia a vapor e combinados e por último Ciclo de vida e balanço energético do etanol.
