description The role of the pedagogue at the Institutos Federais de Educação (IFs) (Federal Institutes of Education) has been taking part in the production of identification processes crossed by narratives that try to define what is to be a pedagogue at the IFs. Thus, we seek to understanding how the researches discuss the identification processes, of non-teacher pedagogues in Federal Institutes of Education. Methodologically, we choose the orientation through the qualitative approach and the bibliographic type research. For this purpose, thesis and dissertations were surveyed at the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD). It was considered that the investigations attempted to regulate identification processes by understanding fixed identities, as something to be found with a view to the pedagogues’ expectations. We propose that identification processes must be understood as part of the pedagogue’s professional development, consequently, overcoming compartmentalized understandings that dissociate personal and professional experiences from being a pedagogue in the IFs, permeated by institutional cultures and official government policies located at a certain a time and place.

El trabajo del pedagogo en los Institutos Federales de Educación (IFs) participa en la producción de procesos de identificación cruzados por narraciones que tratan de definir lo que es ser un pedagogo en los IF. Por tanto, buscamos comprender cómo las investigaciones discuten los procesos de identificación de los pedagogos no docentes en los Institutos Federales de Educación. Metodológicamente, se eligió el abordaje cualitativo y la pesquisa de tipo bibliográfico. Con este propósito, se hicieron búsquedas de tesis y disertaciones en la Biblioteca Digital Brasileña de Tesis y Disertaciones (BDTD). Se consideró que las investigaciones intentaron regular los procesos de identificación mediante la comprensión de las identidades fijas como algo que se puede encontrar con vistas a las expectativas del que se espera del pedagogo. Proponemos que los procesos de identificación sean entendidos como parte del desarrollo profesional del pedagogo, superando así entendimientos compartimentados que disocian las experiencias personales y profesionales de ser un pedagogo en los IFs, permeados por culturas institucionales y políticas oficiales de gobierno localizadas en un tiempo y lugar determinados. A atuação do pedagogo nos Institutos Federais de Educação (IFs) concorre na produção de processos de identificação atravessados por narrativas que tentam definir o que é ser pedagogo nos IFs. Portanto, almejou-se compreender como as pesquisas discutem os processos de identificação de pedagogos não docentes nos Institutos Federais de Educação. Metodologicamente, escolheu-se a orientação pela abordagem qualitativa e pela pesquisa do tipo bibliográfica. Para tal, foram realizados levantamentos de teses e de dissertações na Biblioteca Digital Brasileira de Teses e Dissertações (BDTD). Considerou-se que as investigações tentaram regular processos de identificação pela compreensão de identidades fixas como algo a ser encontrado com vistas aos anseios do que se espera do pedagogo. Propomos que processos de identificação sejam entendidos como parte do desenvolvimento profissional do pedagogo, superando, assim, entendimentos compartimentados que dissociam experiências pessoais e profissionais do ser pedagogo nos IFs permeados por culturas institucionais e políticas oficiais de governo situadas em determinado tempo e lugar.
