The submerged arc welding is one of the processes most commonly used in welding, but as all processes are subject to problems, through a descriptive methodology, qualitative, with application in a case study, we used some quality tools (flowchart, brainstorming, Pareto, 5W2H's) to accurately identify some points where there are opportunities for improvement, and can mitigate them increasing product quality and also the qualification of manpower in the industry. Problems were identified in the production process, such as the lack of standardization in speed and form used in the welding process and incorrect application of electric current. For these cases, they were also suggested in his mother's 5W2H training and periodic refresher for everyone involved in each step of the process and also the development of Standardized Work Instructions for each identified step. A solda de arco submersa é um dos processos mais utilizados na soldagem, porém como todos os processos, estão sujeitos a problemas, através de uma metodologia descritiva, de natureza qualitativa, com aplicação em um estudo de caso, usou-se algumas ferramentas da qualidade (Fluxograma, Brainstorming, Pareto, 5W2H’s), para identificar com precisão alguns pontos onde há oportunidades de melhorias, e poder mitigá-los aumentando a qualidade do produto e também a qualificação da mão de obra na Indústria. Foram identificados problemas no processo produtivo, como: a falta de padronização na velocidade e forma utilizada no processo de soldagem e aplicação incorreta da corrente elétrica. Para estes casos, também foram sugeridos em sua matriz 5W2H’s treinamentos e reciclagem periódica para todos os envolvidos em cada etapa do processo e também a elaboração de Instruções de Trabalho Padronizadas para cada etapa identificada.
