The main focus of such discussions is on the change made by the author for a method of a critique of intersubjective relations, found in The Struggle for Recognition (1992), towards a critique of rationality of the social institutions, present in Freedom’s Right (2011). Such transformation is characteristic of the author's consent to a reconstructive paradigm of social criticism. In this sense, the objective of this article is to expose the main changes in Honneth's theory, starting in the 2000s, which led the author to reframe his method premises into normative reconstruction. Os desenvolvimentos metodológicos recentes da teoria crítica da sociedade de Axel Honneth vêm sendo objeto de controvérsias nos últimos anos. O foco principal de tais discussões está na mudança feita pelo autor de um método de crítica das relações intersubjetivas, encontradas em Luta por reconhecimento (1992), em direção à uma crítica da racionalidade das instituições sociais, presente em O direito da liberdade (2011). Tal transformação é característica da adesão pelo autor a um paradigma reconstrutivo de crítica social. Nesse sentido, o objetivo deste artigo é expor as principais alterações na teoria de Honneth, a partir da década de 2000, que conduziu o autor à reelaborar suas premissas de método em torno da reconstrução normativa.
