Resumo: | Recent methodological developments in Axel Honneth’s critical theory of society have been subject of controversy in last years. The main focus of such discussions is on the change made by the author for a method of a critique of intersubjective relations, found in The Struggle for Recognition (1992), towards a critique of rationality of the social institutions, present in Freedom’s Right (2011). Such transformation is characteristic of the author's consent to a reconstructive paradigm of social criticism. In this sense, the objective of this article is to expose the main changes in Honneth's theory, starting in the 2000s, which led the author to reframe his method premises into normative reconstruction. |
