description Historical heritage, of an architectural nature, has been present in the urban domain of Natal-RN since the beginning of its consolidation as a municipality and it is expected that these will remain characterized and preserved for many generations. For this, mutual cooperation between the public authorities and the community is necessary in order to ensure the maintenance of these assets, preventing their mischaracterization and deterioration. Thus, this scientific article aims to reflect on the right to the memory of Rio Grande do Norte, regarding the conservation of the historical-cultural, architectural and urban heritage of Rio Grande do Norte. In addition, it seeks to present the perceptions of professionals and graduates of UFRN and IFRN, regarding the real situation of these assets and the performance of Organs competent bodies in the preservation work. To this end, it uses bibliographic research, of a qualitative and quantitative nature, seeking theoretical support in studies by Freitas and Guimarães (2017), Rodrigues (2001) and Chartier (1990). Still, questionnaires were used, which were directed to undergraduate students, technical professionals and educators, among others who collaborated in answering the research. Finally, it was possible to verify that among the participants of this study, the majority are connected with the Human Sciences area and do not believe only in the responsibility of the public and constitutional sectors, as maintainers of the zeal for the cultural, urban and architectural heritage of RN, but also to the collective work between them and society, thus ensuring the right to potiguar memory.

El patrimonio histórico, de carácter arquitectónico, ha estado presente en el dominio urbano de Natal-RN desde el inicio de su consolidación como municipio y se espera que estos permanezcan caracterizados y preservados durante muchas generaciones. Para ello, la cooperación mutua entre las autoridades públicas y la comunidad es necesaria para asegurar el mantenimiento de estos activos, evitando su caracterización errónea y deterioro. Así, este artículo científico tiene como objetivo reflexionar sobre el derecho a la memoria de Rio Grande do Norte, en relación con la conservación del patrimonio histórico-cultural, arquitectónico y urbano de Rio Grande do Norte. Además, busca dar a conocer las percepciones de los profesionales y egresados ??de la UFRN e IFRN, sobre la situación real de estos activos y el desempeño de los órganos competentes en la labor de conservación. Para ello, utiliza la investigación bibliográfica, de carácter cualitativo y cuantitativo, buscando apoyo teórico en estudios de Freitas y Guimarães (2017), Rodrigues (2001) y Chartier (1990). Aún así, se utilizaron cuestionarios, los cuales fueron dirigidos a estudiantes de pregrado, profesionales técnicos y educadores, entre otros que colaboraron en la contestación de la investigación. Finalmente, se pudo constatar que entre los participantes de este estudio, la mayoría están vinculados con el área de Ciencias Humanas y no creen solo en la responsabilidad de los sectores público y constitucional, como mantenedores del celo por el patrimonio cultural, urbano y arquitectónico de RN, sino también de la trabajo colectivo entre ellos y la sociedad, garantizando así el derecho a la memoria potiguar. Os patrimônios históricos, de natureza arquitetônica, estão presentes no domínio urbanístico de Natal-RN desde os primórdios de sua consolidação como município e espera-se que estes ainda se mantenham caracterizados e conservados por muitas gerações. Para isso, é necessária uma cooperação mútua entre o poder público e a comunidade, a fim de assegurar a manutenção desses bens, impedindo sua descaracterização e deterioração. Deste modo, esse artigo científico tem como objetivo refletir sobre o direito à memória potiguar, no que tange a conservação do patrimônio histórico-cultural, arquitetônico e urbanístico do Rio Grande do Norte. Além disso, busca apresentar as percepções de profissionais e graduandos da UFRN e IFRN, a respeito da real situação destes patrimônios e da atuação dos órgãos competentes no trabalho de preservação. Para tal, utiliza-se da pesquisa bibliográfica, de natureza quali-quantitativa, buscando embasamento teórico em estudos de Freitas e Guimarães (2017), Rodrigues (2001) e Chartier (1990). Ainda, utilizou-se de questionários, os quais foram direcionados a estudantes de graduação, profissionais técnicos e educadores, entre outros que colaboraram respondendo a pesquisa. Finalmente, foi possível constatar que dentre os participantes desse estudo, a maioria está ligada com a área das Ciências Humanas e não acredita apenas na responsabilidade dos setores públicos e constitucionais, como mantenedores do zelo aos patrimônios culturais, urbanísticos e arquitetônicos do RN, mas ao trabalho coletivo entre estes e a sociedade, assegurando assim, o direito à memória potiguar.
