Resumo:An achievement within the scope of afro reparation policies is the law 12.990/2014, June 9th, 2014, which reserves 20% of the vacancies in a public competition for black candidates. Therefore, this article aims to investigate the enforcement of this law in the edicts for teaching at the Federal University of Pampa, as well as its pursuit and the teaching admission by racial quotas. In order to accomplish that, through the ethnography methodology of documents, it analyzes 74 admission edicts, from the period of 2014 to 2018, for teaching in higher education at the institution. The context of these analyzes confirms that the institution meets the law in each of its edicts. However, it reveals that racial quota reservations are not being sought in proportion to their offer and that the candidates do not advance in the stages of the civil service examination. Through that, we realized the need to emphasize the importance of racial quotas, once this study results show the scarce demand for these vacancies and the low percentage of approval.
