This article proposes to discuss the main challenges faced by indigenous people in Rio Grande do Norte regarding the issue of health in their social territories – concept proposal for anthropologist Paul Little – raising reflections regarding both the colonial period and the present day in the context of the covid-19 pandemic, when dialoguing with Historical Anthropology, through authors such as Barth; Almeida; Pacheco; Neves; among others. Through the analysis of documentary sources from the colonial period; official governments data; and oral reports by indigenous leaders in the state, there was intenses relationships between access to land and quality health, as well as the continuous resistance exerted by indigenous peoples, in the colonial period and also today in Rio Grande do Norte. Este artigo se propõe a discutir os principais desafios encarados pelos povos indígenas no Rio Grande do Norte quanto à questão da saúde em seus territórios sociais – conceito proposto pelo antropólogo Paul Little – suscitando reflexões referentes tanto ao período colonial quanto aos dias atuais no contexto da pandemia da covid-19, ao dialogar com a Antropologia Histórica, por meio de autores como Barth; Almeida; Pacheco; Neves; entre outros. Através da análise de fontes documentais do período colonial; de dados oficiais dos governos mais recentes; e relatos orais de lideranças indígenas no estado, percebeu-se as intensas relações entre o acesso à terra e à saúde de qualidade, assim como, a contínua resistência dos povos indígenas, no período colonial e também atualmente no Rio Grande do Norte.
