| Resumo: | This article proposes to discuss the main challenges faced by indigenous people in Rio Grande do Norte regarding the issue of health in their social territories – concept proposal for anthropologist Paul Little – raising reflections regarding both the colonial period and the present day in the context of the covid-19 pandemic, when dialoguing with Historical Anthropology, through authors such as Barth; Almeida; Pacheco; Neves; among others. Through the analysis of documentary sources from the colonial period; official governments data; and oral reports by indigenous leaders in the state, there was intenses relationships between access to land and quality health, as well as the continuous resistance exerted by indigenous peoples, in the colonial period and also today in Rio Grande do Norte. |
