Using the literature review on the topic, reinforced by the descriptive analysis of comparative data, it was possible to conclude that the Brazilian labor market is subject to occupational segregation by gender, being permeated by discrimination and devaluation of female work, allocating, in large part scale, women in precarious occupations O objetivo deste estudo consiste na realização de uma sucinta análise da divisão sexual do trabalho, motivada pela observação empírica de que existe uma grande disparidade entre os sexos no mercado de trabalho, tanto no quesito de alocação de funções quanto na valorização do serviço de cada um. Utilizando-se da revisão de literatura sobre o tema, reforçada pela análise descritiva de dados comparativos, foi possível concluir que o mercado de trabalho brasileiro está sujeito à segregação ocupacional por gênero, sendo permeado por discriminação e por desvalorização do trabalho feminino, alocando, em grande escala, as mulheres em ocupações precárias.
