description This article deals with Distance Learning and the challenges of including Information and Communication Technologies as a pedagogical strategy amid the difficulties imposed by the current social detachment. A bibliographic research was carried out with the authors' position on DL and the response of official organizations to the demand for education when students cannot attend traditional school. This brief study allowed the observation that, although the Teaching Institutions promote a great investment in new technologies and tools, they do not have their correspondent in preparation, training and qualification of the teaching staff. It was also observed that there is a large portion of the school population that does not have access to classes for socioeconomic reasons that prevents them from having an internet connection to continue their studies. It can also be said that distance learning in synchronous and asynchronous molds is a way of accessing education in constant growth, despite the obstacles faced by students.

Este artículo aborda la educación a distancia y los desafíos de incluir las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación como una estrategia pedagógica en medio de las dificultades impuestas por la distancia social actual. Se realizó una investigación bibliográfica con la posición de los autores sobre EAD y la respuesta de los organismos oficiales a la demanda de educación cuando los estudiantes no pueden asistir a la escuela tradicional. Este breve estudio permitió observar que, aunque las instituciones de enseñanza promueven una gran inversión en nuevas tecnologías y herramientas, no tienen su correspondiente en la preparación, capacitación y calificación del personal docente. También se observó que hay una gran parte de la población escolar que no tiene acceso a clases por razones socioeconómicas que les impide tener una conexión a Internet para continuar sus estudios. También se puede decir que el aprendizaje a distancia en moldes sincrónicos y asincrónicos es una forma de acceder a la educación en constante crecimiento, a pesar de los obstáculos que enfrentan los estudiantes. Este artigo trata do Ensino à Distância e dos desafios da inclusão das Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação como estratégia pedagógica em meio às dificuldades impostas pelo distanciamento social atual. Foi feita uma pesquisa bibliográfica com o posicionamento dos autores sobre o EAD e a resposta dos órgãos oficiais à demanda por educação quando os estudantes não podem frequentar a escola tradicional. Este breve estudo permitiu a observação de que, embora as Instituições de Ensino promovam um grande investimento em novas tecnologias e ferramentas, não apresentam o seu correspondente em preparação, treinamento e capacitação do corpo docente.
