Resumo: | Our objective in this article is to analyze some ways of traveling around the city of Natal at the beginning of the 20th century proposed by intellectuals from Natal during that period, questioning how the port of Natal came to integrate such travel itineraries in the city space proposed by one of these authors, Manoel Dantas. From a theoretical point of view, we will be guided by the reflections of authors like Michel de Certeau and Franco Moretti, who analyze these ways of going through the city through words, using the maps built by them as analytical tools. We will take as sources some articles published in the newspaper A república, as well as Manoel Dantas' work "Christmas in fifty years". |
