In this article, we will look at the narratives of uprooting and confrontation covered in the animation feature movie "O menino e o Mundo" (The Boy and the World, Brazil, 2013), by Alê Abreu. Our objective will be to analyze, in the power of this work, the traces of a Brazilian childhood present in forced migratory movements in the constitution of cities and their human consequences. The theoretical contribution will be based on Milton Santos with his view of the motivations and consequences of the internal mobility of populations in Brazil and Latin America; in Bauman's analyses of the social causes and human consequences of the individuals’ wandering in the globalized space; and also in the contributions of Cecconi and Polenghi who point to cinema as a source for historical studies of childhood. As a result, we hope to expand the understanding of the presence and role of childhood in the dynamics of migration and the city, also highlighting the place of “The Boy and the World” in the history of Brazilian cinema. En este artículo examinaremos las narrativas de desarraigo y enfrentamiento cubiertas en la película de animación “O Menino e o Mundo” (El Niño y el Mundo, Brasil, 2013), de Alê Abreu. Nuestro objetivo será analizar, en el poder de este trabajo, los rastros de una infancia brasileña presente en los desplazamientos migratorios forzados en la constitución de las ciudades y sus consecuencias humanas. La contribución teórica se basará en la mirada de Milton Santos sobre las motivaciones y consecuencias de la movilidad interna de las poblaciones en Brasil y América Latina; en los análisis de Bauman sobre las causas sociales y consecuencias humanas del carácter nómada de los individuos en el espacio globalizado; y también en las contribuciones de Cecconi y Polenghi que apuntan al cine como fuente para los estudios históricos de la infancia. Como resultado, esperamos ampliar el entendimiento de la presencia y el papel de las infancias en la dinámica de las migraciones y de la ciudad, distinguiendo también el lugar de “El Niño y el Mundo” en la historia del cine brasileño. Neste ensaio, nos debruçaremos sobre as narrativas de desenraizamento e enfrentamento, abordados na animação “O menino e o Mundo” (Brasil- 2013), de Alê Abreu. Nosso objetivo será analisar, na potência dessa obra, vestígios de uma infância brasileira presente nos deslocamentos migratórios forçados, na constituição das cidades e suas consequências humanas. O aporte teórico estará alicerçado em Milton Santos com seu olhar sobre as motivações e consequências da mobilidade interna das populações no Brasil e na América Latina; nas análises de Bauman sobre as causas sociais e consequências humanas da errância dos indivíduos no espaço globalizado; e também nas contribuições de Cecconi e Polenghi que apontam o cinema como fonte para os estudos históricos da infância. Como resultado, esperamos ampliar o entendimento da presença e papel das infâncias na dinâmica das migrações e da cidade, também assinalando o lugar de “O menino e o Mundo” na história do cinema brasileiro.
