Consequently, health education for the population becomes a major challenge, especially when technology is the greatest ally in information sources. Therefore, the present work brings an experience report of students of the Medical Course in a Federal University (UF) in reference to this educational process for patients with Rheumatic Fever (RF) and their families, inserted in the Multiprofessional Assistance Program for patients with RF through a WhatsApp group related to it. Thus, the study shows that, despite several obstacles, it is necessary to search for effective means of education in times of crisis. El año de 2020 estuvo marcado por la pandemia del nuevo Coronavirus, un contexto en que el aislamiento social debía ser adoptado a favor de contener la enfermedad. En consecuencia, la educación em salud para la población se convierte en un gran desafío, especialmente cuando la tecnología es el mayor aliado en las fuentes de información. Por lo tanto, el presente trabajo trae um reporte de la experiencia de los estudiantes del Curso de Medicina de una Universidad Federal (UF) acerca de este proceso educativo para pacientes con fiebre reumática (FR) y sus familias, incluidos en el Programa de Asistencia Multiprofesional para pacientes con FR mediante un grupo de WhatsApp relacionado con él. De esa forma, este estudio muestra que, aunque existen varios obstáculos, es necesario buscar medios de educación efectivos en tiempos de crisis. O ano de 2020 contou com o marco da pandemia pelo novo Coronavírus, contexto no qual o isolamento social precisou ser adotado em favor da contenção da doença. Por conseguinte, a educação em saúde da população torna-se um grande desafio, sobretudo quando a tecnologia é a maior aliada nas fontes de informação. Neste ínterim, o presente trabalho traz um relato da experiência de discentes do Curso de Medicina de uma Universidade Federal (UF) no que tange a esse processo educativo para pacientes com Febre Reumática (FR) e seus familiares, inseridos no Programa de Assistência Multiprofissional aos pacientes com FR através de um grupo de WhatsApp relacionado ao mesmo. Dessa forma, o estudo vem mostrar que, apesar de haver diversos entraves, faz-se necessária a busca por meios eficazes de educação em tempos de crise.
