This experience account, the result of a directed work project, describes the experience of the scientific population through social networks, as a strategy to support the fight against COVID-19. An informative video was produced for food-producing establishments, later shared on the most popular social networks among Brazilians: Facebook and Instagram. There was a large number of views of our material published in the institutional channels. Therefore, there was a good dissemination of content and the effectiveness of social networks in scientific, dissemination processes during this pandemic, was verified. Ante la caótica situación provocada por la pandemia del COVID-19, la mala información se ha proliferado, haciéndose necesario el uso de estrategias eficaces para la difusión de conocimiento confiable. Este relato, fruto de un proyecto de trabajo dirigido, describe la experiencia de la divulgación científica mediante las redes sociales, como una estrategia para apoyar el combate al COVID-19. Se produjo un video informativo destinado a los establecimientos productores de alimentos, posteriormente compartido en las redes sociales más populares entre los brasileros: Facebook e Instagram. Se verificó un gran número de visualizaciones del material publicado en los canales institucionales empleados. Por lo tanto, hubo una buena difusión del contenido y se constató la eficacia de las redes sociales en procesos de divulgación científica durante esta pandemia. Diante da situação caótica provocada pela pandemia da COVID-19, há uma proliferação de informações conflituosas, fazendo-se necessário o uso de estratégias eficazes para difundir conhecimento assertivo para a população. O relato de experiência, fruto de um projeto de monitoria, descreve a experiência de popularização cientifica através das redes sociais, como estratégia para o auxílio no combate ao COVID- 19. Foi produzido um vídeo informativo destinado aos estabelecimentos produtores de alimentos e posteriormente compartilhado nas redes sociais mais utilizadas pelos brasileiros: Facebook e Instagram. Verificou-se um grande número de visualizações do material publicado nos canais institucionais utilizados. Houve, portanto, uma boa difusão do conteúdo e constatamos a eficácia das redes sociais no processo de popularização científica durante essa pandemia.
