The purpose of the transcription and reading of this document It is to launch some notes for future research on the politics and administration of Indian villages, seeking to highlight the role of indigenous protagonism in the composition of the city council norms, as well as the presence of indigenous politics in the determinations of local governance. Este trabalho apresenta as posturas municipais da câmara de uma vila de índio da antiga capitania de Porto Seguro chamada São José de Porto Alegre, que foi criada no contexto da implantação da política indigenista pombalina no ano de 1769. O objetivo da transcrição e leitura deste documento é lançar algumas notas para futuras pesquisas sobre política e administração das vilas de índios, buscando destacar o papel do protagonismo indígena na composição das normas camarárias, bem como da presença da política indigenista nas determinações da governança local.
