Period marked by changes in the social structure and the rise of the medical profession, which, under the influence of ideas of progress, would alter the configuration of urban spaces and, consequently, the daily lives of the local population. O presente artigo tem o intuito de compreender a introdução das teorias antropológicas na cidade do Salvador, em específico, a contribuição do Dr. Nina Rodrigues para a construção do imaginário social entre as décadas finais do século XIX e o início do século XX. Período marcado por mudanças na estrutura social e pela ascensão da classe médica, que sob influência dos vislumbres ideários de progresso alterariam a configuração dos espaços urbanos e consequentemente o cotidiano da população local.
