Our aim was to investigate the discursive construction of the “traditional” and the “new.” The analysis carried out indicated that in the field of CALL the “traditional” is constructed in contrast with the “new,” as a discouraging space in which teachers control the lessons, and collaboration, interaction and autonomy are not fostered among learners. The dichotomy “traditional x new” appears, then, as pure ideological evidence which idealizes the “new” to the detriment of the “traditional.” UFRN 2020-04-08 info:eu-repo/semantics/article info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion application/pdf https://periodicos.ufrn.br/odisseia/article/view/19675 Odisseia; Vol. 5 No. 1 (2020); p. 60 - 83 Revue Odisseia; Vol. 5 No. 1 (2020); p. 60 - 83 Revista Odisseia; v. 5 n. 1 (2020); p. 60 - 83 1983-2435 10.21680/1983-2435.2020v5n1 por https://periodicos.ufrn.br/odisseia/article/view/19675/12637 Copyright (c) 2020 Revista Odisseia
