| Resumo: | In 2001, Claude Lévi-Strauss, a central figure to the Social Sciences, published in the journal L'Homme a review of the third volume about South America from the collection The Cambridge History of the Native Peoples of the Americas, organized by Frank Salomon and Stuart B. Schwartz. The organizers answered the accusations on two distinct opportunities: one of them, signed just by Schwartz, was released in 2002 by The Americas, while the other, already signed by both authors, showed up on the same journal L'Homme in 2003. The debate on the pages of these journals will be useful to resume the contributions of structuralism for History and Social Sciences, especially in which concerns the study of the Indian people. |
