| Resumo: | Objective: The objective of this study was to identify the efficiency level of the municipalities of Sergipe in promoting good educational rates with the resources allocated to this sector.
Method: To this end, a research with quantitative methodology was performed applying Data Envelopment Analysis as a technique for measuring the performance of the cities investigated.
Results: The results pointed to the fact that spending more does not guarantee a good educational performance, as municipalities with smaller budgets can achieve better results in the sector discussed. With the targets set by the analysis, the proposal for inefficient municipalities was to maintain resources or even decrease, but always increase the scores in Prova Brasil.
Study Contributions: The study can be considered a consultation tool for municipal managers to devise strategies for resource efficiency and the delivery of better services to the community. In addition, it supports society's understanding of the performance of its locality and thus has subsidies to demand greater transparency from the authorities. |
