description This study aims to carry out a comparative analysis of tourism among 4 municipalities of Polo Seridó (Caicó, Cerro Corá, Currais Novos and Lagoa Nova). The objectives of the article are: to elucidate the structure of the tourist supply of the polled municipalities of the Seridó Pole; to compare the evolution of the tourist ventures inventoried by Polo Seridó; and quantify the number of formal jobs in the tourist sector of the polled municipalities of Polo Seridó. The methodology is based on: delimitation of the temporal and spatial cuts; bibliographic and documentary survey; selection of data; and comparative analysis among the municipalities of Polo Seridó. Thus, it was verified that although tourism presents itself as an important regional economic activity, it still needs sectoral maturation and greater social and economic dynamism in the field of sustainability and employability.

Este estudio tiene el objetivo de realizar análisis comparativos del turismo entre 4 municipios del Polo Seridó (Caicó, Cerro Corá, Currais Novos y Lagoa Nova). Una vez que se realizó el Inventario de la Oferta Turística en esos 4 municipios por medio de un proyecto de extensión universitaria de la UFRN, a través de los estudiantes del Curso de Turismo, donde Currais Novos y Lagoa Nova fueron inventariados en 2016, y Cerro Corá y Caicó en el año 2017. Los objetivos del artículo están dispuestos en: elucidar la estructura de la oferta turística de los municipios inventariados del Polo Seridó; comparar la evolución de los emprendimientos turísticos inventariados del Polo Seridó; y cuantificar el número de empleos formales del sector turístico de los municipios inventariados del Polo Seridó. La metodología se basa en: delimitación de los recortes temporal y espacial; levantamiento bibliográfico y documental; selección de datos; y análisis comparativo entre los municipios del Polo Seridó. Así, se constató que a pesar del turismo se presenta como importante actividad económica regional, aún necesita de maduración sectorial y mayor dinamismo social y económico en el campo de la sustentabilidad y empleabilidad. Este estudo tem o objetivo de realizar análise comparativa do turismo entre 4 municípios do Polo Seridó (Caicó, Cerro Corá, Currais Novos e Lagoa Nova). Uma vez que, realizou-se o Inventário da Oferta Turística nesses 4 municípios por meio de um projeto de extensão universitária da UFRN, através dos estudantes do Curso de Turismo, onde Currais Novos e Lagoa Nova foram inventariados em 2016, e Cerro Corá e Caicó no ano de 2017. Os objetivos do artigo são: elucidar a estrutura da oferta turística dos municípios inventariados do Polo Seridó; comparar a evolução dos empreendimentos turísticos inventariados do Polo Seridó e; quantificar o número de empregos formais do setor turístico dos municípios inventariados do Polo Seridó.
