| Resumo: | This work aims to discuss space determination in the Nossa Senhora da Apresentação, a colonial parish. This parish corresponded to the eighteenth century in the city of Natal and nearby region in Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. This choice was made according to information fonts such as; analysis of the baptism, marriage and death registers. The documental corpus of the research was composed by the first Book of Records of the Mother church of this parish as well as Catharina Peralta Rangel deposition. These documents were analyzed and treated regarding Social History area. At the end, it was possible to conclude that the real sense of existence was the assistance of clergymen, the mother church as well as its chapels on behalf of the settlers making them active participators in the daily life in those surroundings. |
