| Resumo: | The aim of this paper is to discuss and understand the establishment of Praça Sete of Belo Horizonte as a privileged space for political demonstrations. Our approach stemmed from the perspective found in the field of sociology of demonstrations, a theoretical field that seeks to understand the link between social movements and political expression in public spaces as streets and squares. Our argument is that Praça Sete has not always been considered a privileged place for collective demonstrations. It has become such place after the confrontation between different political forces and their different conceptions of public space. |
