Resumo:The article publishes the results of a qualitative research study, which analyzed, in an interpretive way, the policy of continuous training offered to teachers, through the Training and Updating Centers of Primary Education Professionals (CEFAPROs) of Mato Grosso, in the last years.  In order to do so, it was investigated whether the work performed by the Centers was recognized by the teachers, as well as whether the training proposals met the demands of continuing education of these teachers. The different and contradictory dilemmas and perspectives pointed out by teachers are numerous. The information portrayed an adverse and conflicting context. However, the analyzed environment, among other aspects, re-remarks that the provision of continuing education, necessarily, is based on the reflections of the actions carried out by the teachers inside the classrooms. It is felt, therefore, that teachers need to have autonomy to plan the training in attention to their formative demands.
