Resumo:A well-developed graphic project can provide visibility, editorial consistency, visual organization, and a unique identity to periodicals in the field of Arts. In order to clarify the process of preparing an editorial design project, we differentiate here three concepts related to the stages of graphic resolution of a journal: (1) the "visual identity system", (2) the "editorial graphic project" and (3) the “diagramming”. This process is exemplified with the stages of development of a specific journal (Orfeu). Finally, we also deal with different contemporary formats, both printed and digital, as well as the dynamic between permanence and change that marks the editorial scene. The article was presented at the V Art Research Journal Meeting and the II National Forum of Journal Editors in the Area of Arts, held at the UNESP Institute of Arts, in São Paulo, on May 26th and 27th, 2017.
