Resumo: | In this article, I bring some festive and consultation giras of ibejada, the Children that are part of the pantheon of umbanda deities and are the subject of my doctoral research. I observed these rituals in umabanda centers at Rio de Janeiro. Looking upon the presence and circulation of sweets in these rituals, I try to think of what food communicates to us about these entities and these events. Sweets nourish and qualify these Children. Candies, pears and apples circulate in these rituals materializing, mediating and communicating advice, protection, thanks, requests and devotion. |
