Resumo: | The text problematises the procedures of the regulation for the rightof transsexual people to use the social name proposed by the ConselhoSuperior do Instituto Federal do Espírito Santo (IFES) in orderto guarantee the right to education and to promote welcoming andinclusive environment for the LGBTQI community (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual,Tranvestite, Transexual, Queer and Intersexual). The gender andsexuality studies together with the field work production and educationare taken as a theoretical basis. Methodologically, the contribution ofqualitative and documentary research techniques (HELDER, 2006)and the indiciario method (GINZBURG, 1989) are used. The study’sexpectation is to contribute to the visibility of the gender identity andO nome social como fator de inclusão de 145estudantes transexuais e travestis na EPTsexual orientation related problems at IFES and to promote the creationof nuclei of Gender and Sexuality studies in the campi of the Institute.
