It emphasizes that the policies presents themselves with different permissions and restrictions regarding the availability of scientific articles in repositories, which are classified in four colors: blue, green, yellow and white. It emphasizes the importance of this type of service to the repositories in order to advise researchers and institutions in the management of scholarly communication repositories and policies. Apresenta as políticas editoriais de revistas cientificas no que concerne às questões relativas ao acesso aberto. Para tanto, utiliza como base uma experiência estrangeira denominada SHERPA/RoMEO e outra brasileira, coordenada pelo Instituto Brasileiro de Informação em Ciência e Tecnologia, o Diadorim. Ressalta que as políticas se apresentam com diferentes permissões e restrições relativas à disponibilização de artigos científicos em repositórios, as quais são classificadas em quatro cores: azul, verde, amarela e branca. Ressalta a importância desse tipo de serviço para os repositórios no intuito de assessorar pesquisadores e instituições na gestão de repositórios e políticas de comunicação científica.
