This is not a proposal of rigorous speculation about Max Weber's thinking, but of collecting freely what he brings as relevant and indispensable for the construction of a research object from a clipping of social reality. His contributions were not limited to Sociology, but expanded to other areas of knowledge. The methodology used was the revision of bibliography from the very writings of Max Weber and authors based on the subject. Este ensaio pretendeu realizar um comentário sobre a importância das contribuições de Max Weber ao processo de investigação científica. Não se trata de uma proposta de especulação rigorosa acerca do pensamento de Max Weber, mas de recolher livremente o que ele traz como relevante e indispensável para a construção de um objeto de pesquisa a partir de um recorte da realidade social. Suas contribuições não se limitaram apenas à Sociologia, mas se ampliaram para as demais áreas do conhecimento.  A metodologia utilizada foi a revisão de bibliografia a partir dos próprios escritos de Max Weber e de autores abalizados no assunto.
